Accucold™ Med-Lab Refrigerators use a digital thermostat which allows users to precisely set the internal temperature between 2 and 10°C. Shown on the temperature display are the current high and low temperatures which get updated every 15 minutes. Users have the choice of displaying temperature measurements in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. For improved temperature accuracy, Accucold™ Med-Lab Refrigerators use two separate temperature sensors. One sensor reads the internal air temperature while the other sits encased in a glycol filled bottle to simulate the temperatures of items stored inside the Refrigerator. The buffered temperature probe encased in the glycol-filled bottle has a ±1°C in temperature variation.
Forced air cooling is provided by a set of internal fans which work to keep temperatures stable and uniform. An automatic defrost cycle which can be adjusted by users helps prevent ice from building up and causing temperature spikes. Med-Lab Performance Refrigerators feature several alarms for alerting users in order to keep running as efficiently as possible. Audible and visual alarms will trigger if the internal temperature has exceeded the desired range or if the temperature sensors have been disrupted.
