The Digital Doppler is designed to provide the highest sound quality for obstetrical examinations. The Obstetrical Doppler uses a unique technology Bovie calls DOP (Digitally Optimized Processing), an advanced signal processing that converts the audio signal to digital, reducing unwanted background noise. Furthermore, the Fetal Doppler optimizes the sound quality based on the probe being used. Along with high sound quality, the ACUDOP II is designed to stand up to years of use with a durable stainless steel and polycarbonate case.

The LCD display on the AD-770 Fetal Doppler was designed to be easy to read from many viewing angles and under variable lighting conditions such as fluorescent lighting. The Bovie Hand Held Doppler displays battery voltage level, heart rate, volume, mute, and signal indicator.

The AD-770R ACUDOP II is available with a smart recharge system that prevents charging of non-rechargeable batteries by recognizing non-rechargeable alkaline batteries. This smart charge system prevents damaging battery leaks. The batteries in the AD-770R Dopplers are charged by plugging the AC adapter into the recharge port. Charge status is displayed on the front of the Doppler. The light is red while charging and turns green when fully charged.

Every Bovie Handheld Doppler features an auto shut off feature after 3 minutes of inactivity and has 16 volume settings that are easily adjusted through a volume slider located on the main unit. The Doppler System will mute when the volume is at minimum, but signal can still be heard with headphones plugged into the headphone jack.

The ACUDOP 2MHz probe is optimized for later term pregnancies or bariatric patients. The 3MHz probe for the hand held Doppler is Bovie's general purpose obstetrical probe, ideal for early fetal heartbeat detection and use throughout pregnancy. The ACUDOP Obstetrical Doppler is also available with a 2MHz waterproof probe.
