Scotsman's XSafe sanitation system is installed on top of the ice machine and uses UV-C light to generate a potent mixture of photoplasma, negatively charged ions and ozone that help destroy viruses and other harmful contaminants. This mixture is passed through the food zone of the ice maker where ice is being produced, helping protect ice machine surfaces and the surrounding environment. This sanitizing mixture also travels into the bin to help protect the ice already produced.
