Forced air cooling is supplied by a top-mounted commercial fan which allow the Laboratory Refrigerators to provide uniform cooling at the desired temperature range. The fan also provides rapid temperature recovery after the door has been opened. The Pharmaceutical Refrigerators have an adjustable temperature range of 2°C to 10°C (35.6°F to 50°F), but are initially pre-set to 5°C. A user adjustable automatic defrost cycle runs in order to prevent ice build up and unwanted temperature spikes.
Unlike Refrigerators that have traditional dial thermostats, Accucold™ Stainless Steel Medical Refrigerators have a digital thermostat which offers users more precise temperature control. The digital temperature controller houses a large LED temperature display and is powered by an intelligent microprocessor. Here, the minimum and maximum internal temperatures are displayed and updated every 15 minutes. Users can choose whether they want the temperature displayed in metric (Celsius) or imperial (Fahrenheit) units. Separate sensors are used to monitor the air and the product for rapid temperature adjustments and for providing accurate temperature readings. Accucold™ Stainless Steel Medical Refrigerators feature multiple alarms to help ensure that the contents inside are stored under optimal conditions. Audible and visual temperature alarms will trigger when the Refrigerator's internal temperature has exceeded the desired minimum and maximum temperature range. An alarm will sound whenever the doors are left open as a reminder to close them. An alarm will beep 3 times after the door has been left open for longer than 30 seconds, 5 times when left open longer than 60 seconds, and a continuous alarm will sound when left open for longer than 5 minutes.
