Medline's Excel Extra-Wide Manual Wheelchairs offer an exceptional combination of durability and versatility for the larger user.
Like all Excel wheelchairs, the Extra-Wide model features a carbon steel frame, and the chrome plating is both rust- and chip-resistant. The tough, embossed navy upholstery is easy-to-clean and comfortable to sit on, and the chair features an over-sized chart pocket on the back. If you want or need to change the upholstery, the threaded seat screw inserts reduce stripping when you do so for a longer lasting product.
Not only are the desk length arms removable, the armrests are padded and upholstered for comfort and style. The calf pads are also padded and upholstered, and come standard with both the detachable footrests and the detachable elevating legrests. Elevating legrest models feature a notched, stainless steel ratchet bar to lock the legrests securely in place.
The nuts and bolts of the Excel Extra-Wide are impressive, to say the least. It features sealed bearings in fork housing, rear wheels and front wheels, keeping dirt out and adding durability while being maintenance-free. The mag-style composite wheels are extremely durable and easy to clean, not to mention lightweight and maintenance-free. The Extra-wide also includes a heavy-duty fork and welded fork stems to minimize wobbling.
