BSN Medical Delta-Cast® Elite Polyester Casting Tape combines the conformity of polyester cast tape with high rigidity.

Polyester Cast Tape offers many advantages to traditional casting materials. Delta-Cast® Elite features latex-free polyester yarn that easily stretches and conforms to the body's contours. This superior conformity means that no tucks or folds are required during application, resulting in a lighter cast with fewer pressure points.

The Casting Tape Resin is specially formulated to facilitate the molding process. The fiberglass-free bandages can be worked with any gloves. A special slip agent surfactant allows for easier molding than traditional synthetic cast tape resins, emulating the smooth feel of plaster. The synthetic resin lends precision with a reliable 3 minute working window, and Delta-Cast® Elite casts are weight-bearing after just 20 minutes.

Delta-Cast® Elite Cast Tape casts feature secure lamination, ensuring long-term durability and reducing risk of breakdown. The high rigidity and stability give patients more confidence, as there is less worry of ruining the cast. The smooth finish and laminated edges improve patient comfort, without any of the snagging or scratching of fiberglass casts.

The material is 100% radiolucent, resulting in much clearer x-rays. With the Polyester Cast Substrate, there is none of the murkiness or distortion that fiberglass or plaster casts can give. This clarity reduces unnecessary cast removals, as the medical practitioner is able to make clearer readings and see subtle differences that would otherwise be clouded.

Unlike Plaster Casts, Polyester Casts are water resistant, easily shedding water that would ruin a plaster cast. If combined with specially-engineered waterproof cast padding and stockinettes like the Delta-Dry® products- See related products below, synthetic casts can even be fully submerged. Waterproof Casts allow the patient to perspire, bathe, shower, or even swim as normal.
