BSN Medical Specialist® Quick Setting Plaster Bandages is supported by a manufacturing process designed to provide consistent results: each Specialist® Casting Bandage will perform exactly like the last. The Plaster of Paris is evenly coated on the gauze. The adherence process is designed to minimize plaster loss, meaning less plaster will be wasted in the bucket.
High green strength reduces the risk of distortion before the cast fully dries. The set times are consistent, and bandages are available in Fast and Extra Fast set formulas. Fast Setting Plaster Bandages have a set time of 5 - 8 minutes, and Extra Fast Setting Plaster Bandages have a set time of 2 - 4 minutes. The low exothermic properties ensure patient comfort and safety during setting. Once set, the Plaster of Paris has a traditional dry, smooth finish and is extremely strong and durable.
